I'm still alive
Today is the last day of my first week of law school. The concepts are not really so complicated, but then, it's one thing to understand the American Capture Rule in August, it's another thing to remember it in December.

This early on, the real challenge is just time management. Almost every waking moment is filled. It doesn't help that I have to take four hours of public transportation every day. I can read on the train, but writing's pretty difficult, and once I get to the light rail and bus portions of the trip, forget it.

I know just one thing. Falling behind would be really, really bad. So, if you're wondering where I am, I'm hunched over Civil Procedure.

You've got Civ Pro first semester?

Yeah, we've started with the Lassiter case. It's interesting how the Eldridge test is applied there. Really, the Eldridge test was part of an opinion which limited due process, but the dissent keeps trying to turn it into a big tent vibe.

So far, my favorite class has been Contracts. It's so slippery, and there are just wheels within wheels. It's an acid trip of common law.

By the way, I'm also blogging as a 1L for the law school. They've got me limited to 250 words per week, but it's pretty cool. I'll post the link when they get the page set up. It'll have a picture of me standing there with my backpack looking all confident and happy.
