Why Doesn't This Suprise Me?
A woman accidentally stabbed herself in the foot with a 3-foot-long sword while performing a Wiccan good luck ritual at a cemetery in central Indiana.

Blast From The Past

When I was a teenager, my younger brother and his friends once went into New York City and bought a large amount of illegal fireworks. He kept them in the trunk of his car and, when they didn't think anyone knew about it, they would go off into the hills nearby to set them off.

One day he came back from such an expedition and walked nonchalantly into our house - and into the living room where my father and I were reading the paper.

"Stick out your hands," I said to him.

He did so without thinking about it and asked me why.

"I want to count your fingers," I replied as I leaned over & gave them a cursory examination.

My father busted up laughing and my brother has told me that he will never forgive me for exposing him like this.

When you find Sabaz's piece on edged weapons and safety, bear this story in mind...

I didn't find it among the essays published at his "Basilica" site; help a brother out?
